Hey guys, maybe you guys can help me out. I am 20 now, from Bergen County and can't apply for the NJSP because of the age requirement, (21). I don't understand this requirement since I finished my bachelors degree when I was 19 but that is something I can't change... I am however hoping to get into the DOC for the July class.
Do you guys have any tips for next year when I apply? Always loved the idea of being a trooper but I know it is not an easy process. I heard after the written it is random selection.. is there anyway to get ahead when this step comes along, (scoring all high marks on the physical or written test)? Any tips for the process would be great.
I have been reading this forum everyday and want to wish you all luck on your CRB's coming up, I'm sure you guys will do great.

Fully tracking man, I was asking if anyone else has heard about their investigations being wrapped up and recieved by the SPU..JRMVP wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 4:15 pm - No info on CRB will be sent out until after all investigations are concluded which should be post the 23rd(if this is still their deadline).
Remember every month something is tentatively set to be done..
May CRBs - June Medical/Psych - July AAW/PEP - August Academy.

What do you guys think the academy schedule is going to be for the August class? Same accelerated 4 month program like the last class due to COVID, or back to the standard 6 month pace with weekends open?

From what my investigator said, he's 75% betting that it's 4 months locked inBernard1414 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 6:32 am What do you guys think the academy schedule is going to be for the August class? My investigator told my wife that might be a possibility too, but whatever I'd rather do a straight 4 monthscalypso347 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 6:53 amFrom what my investigator said, he's 75% betting that it's 4 months locked inBernard1414 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 6:32 am What do you guys think the academy schedule is going to be for the August class? Locked in will definitely be tough, but with a good group, we wont let anyones mind fall. Still rather do 4 months.

Same. Just get through it without interruptions. That would make a graduation right before Xmas, nice gift lolRedLeg2015 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 8:37 amMy investigator told my wife that might be a possibility too, but whatever I'd rather do a straight 4 monthscalypso347 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 6:53 amFrom what my investigator said, he's 75% betting that it's 4 months locked inBernard1414 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 6:32 am What do you guys think the academy schedule is going to be for the August class? Gang- my investigator said to plan on going straight.
Also, the first NJSP class graduated on Dec 5, 1921 - he said top brass wants class 162 to graduate on that day as a commemoration on the 100 year anniversary. He said it would prob be a very special graduation and wouldn't be surprised in Retired US Army Gen Norman Swartrzkof was there. As you know- he father founded the NJ State Police.

So much for him attending - he died in 2012.
